Bespoke decorative trellis at WOW!house

The Garden Trellis Co collaborate with Randle Siddeley and McKinnon and Harris for a serene luxury courtyard at WOW!House.
Taking place from 3rd June to 3rd July 2025 at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour in London, WOW!house is a one-of-a-kind showhouse with over 20 rooms and outdoor spaces. Each space is uniquely designed by world-class designers, working in collaboration with globally recognised design brands and incredible suppliers, with a focus this year on bespoke craftsmanship.
We were asked by one of the country’s most revered landscape architects, Randle Siddeley, to craft the bespoke joinery elements for the McKinnon and Harris Garden Terrace.
“An exotic, opulent escape from the everyday” is how landscape architect Randle Siddeley describes his Garden Terrace. The airy look and feel of a classic palm court was the inspiration here: this space invites both intimate moments and lively gatherings.
McKinnon and Harris’ outdoor furniture sits within lush planting, surrounded by our bespoke painted trellis with arches and beaded panelling. This is the second year that we have been at WOW!House, and this installation follows the glorious tennis-inspired courtyard by Katharine Pooley for McKinnon and Harris in 2024.
Will Massie, CEO and Co-founder, McKinnon and Harris said,
“McKinnon and Harris designs are deeply inspired by classic English treillage, which brings a sense of structure, elegance, and intimacy to garden spaces. That’s why we’ve loved collaborating with Garden Trellis Co for two years in a row at Wow!house—trelliswork has a unique ability to make outdoor spaces feel like beautifully appointed rooms.”
The decorative trellis-work includes bespoke arches and beaded panelling details. In the middle of each trellis elevation is a dado rail, the panels are also topped with a decorative crown moulding, and there is solid skirting at the bottom.
Everything is handcrafted in our Essex workshop from thermally treated timber and painted in Benjamin Moore 1497 CC-722 (Vineland). The trellis is sat in framing and is back-lit by LED strips, with beautiful wallpaper behind and TV screens in the arch details.
The project started with the stunning initial sketches and designs from Randle Siddeley and then we got down to the details with our CAD drawings.
The project was managed in a team effort by James Gee and Naomi Pulchan, who helped everyone stay on track to bring the project to completion.
The bespoke joinery was handcrafted by our dedicated team. They fully assembled the elevations in the workshop, to check them before they were dismantled again and passed on to our specialist temperature and humidity-controlled paint shop.
Our experienced team were then on-site at the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour in London to complete the installation in a short space of time.
Gavin Heppelthwaite, Design Director at Randle Siddeley said,
“The walls look absolutely stunning! I just wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to you and the team for your generous collaboration. The trelliswork you provided played a pivotal role in bringing the Garden Terrace concept to life—helping us blur the boundaries between indoors and out and evoke the timeless elegance of a Palm Court or Glasshouse. Layered over the botanical wallpaper and subtly backlit, the trellis added depth, texture, and atmosphere. The installation truly wouldn’t have been the same without your support.”
We pride ourselves on quality, and it is best understood when you see our work in person. As much of our bespoke work is done for customers for whom privacy is paramount, it can be hard to find opportunities to see it. That’s why we are delighted to be part of WOW!house and do hope that you might be able to visit.
WOW!house is on at the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour in London until 3rd July 2025. Do let us know if you are planning a visit in case we are able to meet you there.
