Garden Refurbishment for James’ Place – The James-Wentworth Stanley Memorial Fund

Diamond

We are very honoured to have been involved with the garden refurbishment for James’ Place in Liverpool to create a pleasant and calming place for their visitors. James’ Place is a non-clinical centre for men experiencing suicidal crisis, the first of its kind in the UK. Taking referrals from local hospitals, student counselling services, police and street triage services, visitors are offered a service of one-to-one free therapeutic support during their time of need.

Since the refurbishment project began, we have been working closely with Garden Designer Louise del Balzo to design the right products that will provide privacy and comfort for those visiting the centre. The project featured bespoke slatted panels added above walls for seclusion to the garden, a single bench and a decorative gazebo for sheltered seating, all in Iroko Timber. A solid gate from our ready-made range was added to the back wall of the garden for security.

A definitive completion date had to be met as the opening of James’ Place had been confirmed. Access to the site was also a slight issue that was overcome by providing the gazebo in separated parts with instructions to help the installers on-site assemble the product correctly.

The opening of James’ Place took place on the 19th June and was opened by Clare Milford Haven and Prince William who unveiled the James’ Place plaque for those that attended the opening.
