We were approached by Andrew Wenham, a North London based Garden Designer, to look at a major re-development project he was working on. He had been commissioned to design a garden for a site which was in the process of being excavated (as shown). His design included living walls and required some very bespoke contemporary panels to compliment and add interest to what was going to become a very high garden wall.
Using our extensive knowledge and experience we designed panels and used materials to ensure exceptional levels of accuracy and stability. In a scheme of this nature we understand that our customers and their clients will accept nothing less, to achieve this we used a specially modified timber species to provide the required stability and worked to very small tolerances in the manufacture process.
This scheme also required precise installation by our team of skilled and dedicated fitters. We ensured they carried out the necessary 'eye for detail' demanded throughout all stages of this project. The final results speak for themselves and needless to say the designer and his client were thrilled with the overall effect.
The brief from the customer was to build a distinctive, contemporary garden room to allow them enjoyment from the afternoon/evening sunshine at the end of their garden.
With a plethora of modern boxes available we needed to deliver a design that stood out from the crowd. The drawing evolved during close discussion with the clients and a shape developed that offered a vista of the garden when seated inside or on the deck. The striking roof line together with the angular bi-folding doors created a shaded deck area and the ultimate indoor/outdoor living experience.
Throughout the design close attention was paid to the choice of materials. Western Red Cedar cladding, oiled to enhance and protect its beauty on the exterior with rich Cherry timber used for the flooring and snug area. Painted walls provided relief to the timber content while the planting around the deck softened and integrated the structure.
In late 2008 we were contacted by an architect’s practice based in central London with a project they had drawn for a client in South London. This was a modern new build property which required gates and screening panels made using Ipe hardwood.
Using the architect's plans we firstly produced our own Autocad drawings of the various elements that were required. Then using our experience and knowledge, gained from undertaking countless numbers of similar projects, and at all stages working closely with the architect we were able to modify and adapt the drawings. This allowed us to design, manufacture and install gates and panels with the desired effect drawing on the Architect's design intent whilst using as much as possible standard panel manufacture. This helped us to install our elements of the project on time and within budget.
We also closely liaised with the main contractors, steel workers and other parties involved for various elements of the build and installation to help the smooth and efficient running of the project.
